The mission of the Downeast Lakes Land Trust is to contribute to the long-term economic and environmental well-being of the Downeast Lakes region through the conservation and exemplary management of its forests and waters.
The land trust owns and manages the 27,080-acre Farm Cove Community Forest, with 62 miles of shoreline on 6 lakes, and partnered with the New England Forestry Foundation to protect an additional 312,000 acres of working forest with a conservation easement.
