Life at DarrowJunior Sections explore the ancient canoe routes of the Passamaquoddy people in our home waters in eastern Maine as campers learn basic skills of wilderness camping and flatwater (lake) canoeing. Junior sections typically paddle loop routes through the many beautiful and largely undeveloped lakes surrounding our Base Camp, and the daily schedule is adjusted to allow plenty of time for relaxation and fun. Three staff members usually work with these sections to insure proper training, supervision, and safety.

The Explorer sections are one week introductions to flatwater canoeing and canoe camping for 10-11 yr olds.

The Voyageur sections are introductory trips for 11-12 year olds and are offered in two, four, or six week enrollment periods. The more experienced Junior campers begin to learn the basics of handling their canoes in moving water.
